About Us

Mathilde & Amelie came into being as a result of my lifelong love for handwork, knitting, embroidery and needlework.

When I noticed the tapestries, lace, handwork and textiles at the brocantes in France, I was struck by their quality, and imagined the many long hours lovingly devoted to creating these nostalgic yet now forgotten items.

I developed a strong desire to restore dignity to these neglected, but once fashionable objects and to let the beauty of the original materials come to the fore.

Each item is an original, one-of-a-kind design that cannot be repeated. Please get in touch and I can always try to recreate it.

M&A is all about respecting and caring for these wonderful vintage pieces and renewing them into objects that could be useful, decorative and desirable for our homes today!
